Two arrangements

Match the bond to
your import activity

Single-transaction bond

For a specified transaction

This may suit occasional imports, depending on the goods, applicable requirements and other bond arrangements your shipment needs.

Continuous bond

For covered activity over its effective period

This may suit recurring imports, but the required amount and terms depend on your activity and underwriting review.

Import frequency is one part of the decision. We also review the goods, estimated duties and taxes, timing, and existing bond status before recommending an arrangement.

Guarantee

Bond amount

The guarantee limit securing obligations to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

It is not the price you pay to obtain the bond.

Cost

Premium and service charges

The cost of obtaining the bond and any agreed arrangement services.

Your quote will identify the charges and applicable conditions.

Separate protection

Cargo insurance

Separate protection for insured cargo loss or damage.

A customs bond does not provide that protection or remove your payment and compliance obligations as an importer.

FAQ

Bond questions

Can I use my existing customs bond?

Possibly. We need to verify the bond type, active status, importer details, amount and suitability for the planned activity before confirming that it can be used.

Does a customs bond pay my import duties for me?

It secures obligations to CBP. You remain responsible for the duties, taxes and other obligations that apply to your imports.

Will one bond cover both ISF and customs entry?

That depends on the bond and its coverage. Share your current arrangements so our team can determine whether additional bond arrangements are needed.

Is approval or same-day activation guaranteed?

No. Timing depends on complete information, underwriting requirements and processing. Tell us your shipment dates early so we can assess the required timing.

What if my import activity changes?

Tell us about changes in products, values, duties or shipment frequency. We can review whether the existing bond remains suitable and explain any changes, renewal or replacement steps required.
