Clear inputs.
Explainable results.
Free-time dates depend on the applicable carrier and terminal rules. Enter the agreed start date, free-day allowance and counting method. The tool shows the last counted free day; it does not retrieve an official last-free-day notice.
How to use this tool
- Get the start event and allowance from the carrier, terminal or your written agreement.
- Choose whether the event day counts. Use business days and exclusions only when the tariff allows them.
- Review the calendar and confirm the exact local cutoff time with the relevant operator.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
With five calendar days starting on Monday 19 October 2026 and the event day included, the last counted free day is Friday 23 October. Excluding the event day moves it to Saturday 24 October. Terminal hours may require an earlier appointment.
What the estimate covers
Demurrage, detention and terminal storage can have separate clocks. “Business days” here means Monday–Friday excluding your entered dates. The next calendar date is shown for planning, not as a guaranteed charge-start date.
Are weekends always free?
No. Many tariffs count calendar days, including weekends and holidays. Select exclusions only when the applicable agreement permits them.
Does this calculate demurrage charges?
No. Rate tiers, start events, release conditions and chargeable-day rules vary. This tool plans dates only.
What if the allowance is zero days?
There is no free day in this model. The first counting date is shown, and you should confirm the applicable charges and cutoff directly.
